Gender Reveal!!

We had our 20 week appointment on Nov 6 to find that we're having a boy! And more importantly, a healthy baby! We are over the moon excited about a boy, though our only care was a healthy baby. So far, everything seems to be developing correctly and he is where is should be. Heart rate was 146. He is 11 oz, and we didn't find out how long. Too many measurements to do at the time of the appointment. My original due date was March 25, we can still use that date but the exact day is March 23. I won't complain about a couple days sooner! Margaret already knows that she wants me to deliver a week early (because of the MTHFR and the deteriorating placenta). Cervix measured at 6 (mm? I'm not sure what it's measured as) which is great! Normal is considered a 4, so, the chance of pre-term labor decreases because obviously, 6 is thicker and longer.

Baby boy moved the entire time we were in the appointment, and all day, like usual. He has kept me up the past couple of nights. He doesn't like to sleep until about 11. I wake up a time or two during the night do his constant movements. Then, he's back at it early in the morning. I'm very happy that he's such a mover, I just hope he lets me sleep in the future! I'm NOT like this at all, must get it from his dad. ;)

When we first sat down in the ultrasound room, the gal asked us if we'd like to know the gender. We said yes, and within a minute she had the gender on the screen. I wasn't paying much attention yet, and I hear Ben ask, "Is that a wiener?". Hahaha! Wow, that was so fast!! She said, "Yup, no mistaking that!". We got a print out of what we saw on the screen. Undoubtably BOY! In the beginning, I was convinced we were having a boy. We always referred to him as 'him'. The past month or so, I wasn't so sure, I felt like I couldn't be as positive as I was so, I left a little room to think it might be a girl. It's crazy how sometimes you just have that feeling.

We had a girl name we really liked. So, we'll save that for the next one. No set boy names though. A couple maybe's but we've got time. Middle name will most likely be Ernie.

Random (disgusting) tidbit... This (11/6) was the first day I puked since I was pregnant. And it's because Ben farted in the car. To say the least, it was RANCID and I think I would have vomited even if I weren't pregnant. I tried so hard to get it out the window (while driving 65+!) and succeeded w/ most of it. I didn't manage keeping it out of my hair and some of it out of the car. So, please excuse my freshly washed hair in the first picture. I washed it as soon as I got home and didn't have time to do anything with it. Oh well, I hope that's the only time I puke during this pregnancy. It was awful!

Weird question...and don't know if you want to share...but why did you get the MTHFR testing? and why do you need to deliver early because of it?

We just recently got tested because of Ruby's autism...and curiosity of how she got which genes :)

you can email me if you feel like sharing...dedrehartley.at.gmail
