Little things

My sister is very excited to meet her new nephew and I love the fact that she gets to experience this pregnancy as closely as she has. I think she may talk to my stomach more than she talks to me. ;) It's the little things that are unforgettable, that mean so much to me.

I'm so grateful to have my sister with me. Not only do we have a great relationship, she is a HUGE help. She will tell you I'm a little on the grumpy/strict side, but the girl is learning some very important things. :) She's pretty amazing and this little boy is going to be lucky to have her as an aunt.

I can't believe how fast my sister grows, still! It seems like yesterday I was feeling my mom's belly when she was pregnant with Aunna. He was really moving here and she was able to feel him really well.

I HAD to buy a belly band. My poor button is just getting further and further away from it's button hole. I LOVE these! Got one in black and white. They were on the spendy side at around $25 a piece, but they are SO worth it and I will be getting more. Belly is getting big. Weight now (23 weeks) is 117, so I'm up 6lbs. Not too bad, but I'm (HE) is still considerably small compared to what's coming in the future (and all the sweets cravings isnt helping!). Not too many milestones to note, just growing every day, or so it feels like. I have growing pains on the sides and around my belly, but other than that, I still feel great and hope it stays that way. Dr's appointment tomorrow so I'll have more to say then.

No name picked out yet. We'll see him before we make a decision anyway. Seriously though, he may remain nameless. ;)

ps-I had a dream we ended up having twins. What a scary thought.

Grow, baby, grow!

My love handles are mistaken, they think I am talking to them. :(

I guess it all comes with it but I am not happy to see them coming back... (not that I ever completely got rid of them, but I worked to make them minimal!)

6 weeks

21 weeks

Love in the family...

Our cat is a determined little creature. And a bed HOG!
Shelb, you are such a pushover. ;) Shelby will sit by the garage and watch Hitler (the cat) chase dogs out of the yard. He's no softy until it comes to his Shelby.

Declaring sides...

Slowly stretching out...

To this... doesn't look comfy.

Much better....

 And they're out... :)

Kinda reminds me of this...

Gender Reveal!!

We had our 20 week appointment on Nov 6 to find that we're having a boy! And more importantly, a healthy baby! We are over the moon excited about a boy, though our only care was a healthy baby. So far, everything seems to be developing correctly and he is where is should be. Heart rate was 146. He is 11 oz, and we didn't find out how long. Too many measurements to do at the time of the appointment. My original due date was March 25, we can still use that date but the exact day is March 23. I won't complain about a couple days sooner! Margaret already knows that she wants me to deliver a week early (because of the MTHFR and the deteriorating placenta). Cervix measured at 6 (mm? I'm not sure what it's measured as) which is great! Normal is considered a 4, so, the chance of pre-term labor decreases because obviously, 6 is thicker and longer.

Baby boy moved the entire time we were in the appointment, and all day, like usual. He has kept me up the past couple of nights. He doesn't like to sleep until about 11. I wake up a time or two during the night do his constant movements. Then, he's back at it early in the morning. I'm very happy that he's such a mover, I just hope he lets me sleep in the future! I'm NOT like this at all, must get it from his dad. ;)

When we first sat down in the ultrasound room, the gal asked us if we'd like to know the gender. We said yes, and within a minute she had the gender on the screen. I wasn't paying much attention yet, and I hear Ben ask, "Is that a wiener?". Hahaha! Wow, that was so fast!! She said, "Yup, no mistaking that!". We got a print out of what we saw on the screen. Undoubtably BOY! In the beginning, I was convinced we were having a boy. We always referred to him as 'him'. The past month or so, I wasn't so sure, I felt like I couldn't be as positive as I was so, I left a little room to think it might be a girl. It's crazy how sometimes you just have that feeling.

We had a girl name we really liked. So, we'll save that for the next one. No set boy names though. A couple maybe's but we've got time. Middle name will most likely be Ernie.

Random (disgusting) tidbit... This (11/6) was the first day I puked since I was pregnant. And it's because Ben farted in the car. To say the least, it was RANCID and I think I would have vomited even if I weren't pregnant. I tried so hard to get it out the window (while driving 65+!) and succeeded w/ most of it. I didn't manage keeping it out of my hair and some of it out of the car. So, please excuse my freshly washed hair in the first picture. I washed it as soon as I got home and didn't have time to do anything with it. Oh well, I hope that's the only time I puke during this pregnancy. It was awful!

19 week belly

19 weeks, 3 days. I feel rather large, already!

19 weeks

How far along? 19 weeks, 3 days
Fruit Comparison: A mango. So it says.
Total weight gain: Same as before I got pregnant. 111 lbs. Which is a 6 lb gain since I lost some in the first tri.
Maternity clothes? I haven't gotten any yet but I definitely need some! I can't do my button up on most of my jeans. Most of my shirts still fit.
Stretch marks? Nope. I lotion up every day and I need to get some stretch mark cream, even though I've heard it doesn't work. I'm not holding my breath but I will try to prevent!
Sleep: I slept horribly while we were on vacation all last week. I slept SO good the night we got home and I was in my bed. Still not too uncomfortable yet.
Best moment this week: Seeing movement on the outside of my belly.
Miss anything? Drinking. We gambled in Mesquite the other night, and it was a bummer not to be able to have a drink. It doesn't bother me until I'm in a social situation.
Movement: More everyday and getting stronger. It was my first day back to work yesterday, and I felt movement throughout the day. LOVE it!
Food cravings: Nothing too constant anymore. I crave things that are unhealthy. It's hard to stay away from chocolate, spaghettio's, deep fried anything and fattening sauces.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing. Though yesterday I had a hot flash and thought I was going to lose my breakfast. Dry heaving is awful. I'd almost rather just puke and get it over with. I felt better after I sat outside for a minute and had some water. I was in the middle of a highlight, though and I'm sure the lady was confused for a bit.
Gender: No strong feelings either way. In the beginning we were convinced it was a boy, so we just said 'him'. Now, I have no idea. I still say 'him' most of the time though. We find out in 5 days!!
Labor signs: No! Pre-term labor has been a worry of mine though there is no reason why I should think it'll happen. So far, so good!
Symptoms: Nothing new, except that weird hot flash yesterday.
Belly button in or out? In still.
Wedding rings on or off? I have been wearing a cheap band on my finger because my wedding ring is still too big.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: This Tuesday! Can't wait to know the gender and have an ultrasound. So, so many other things, too.

The belly is getting big! I can't begin to imagine how things will be in 20 more weeks.
I'll post a picture w/ this post later today.
