Treyden is 12 weeks old!

Its been a while so I'll try to catch up a little. Treyden is growing too fast. He's a happy and healthy baby and we are so blessed! He was 10 lbs at his 2 month check up, which was 3 weeks ago and he's grown a lot since then. He's thin and tall just like his dad. He's been sleeping great over the past week or two. Wakes up a few times to eat but then back to bed. He loves to be held, he's not content for long when you set him down. But I suppose thats ok, since I love to hold him. His personality is really starting to show. He's extremely stubborn. Happy most of the time but doesnt like to stay in the same place for long. I'm constantly bouncing and jigging when I'm holding him. He still doesn't like his pacifier. He'll take it better than he use to but not because he wants to. ;) He snorts when he gets mad. He's very alert and holds his head up well.  Just in the past week he's started to love to look in the mirror. He's still only fed breast milk. Wednesdays when I'm at work, he'll take 2-4oz of formula. He stays with my mom/Macall/Aunna or Beth Ann on Wednesdays while I work. He got his first sniffly nose a couple days ago. :( Wasn't too bad thank goodness. His eyes are still blue but are greenish around the iris. I think he has his daddy's big smile. He loves to coo at us. He's becoming very vocal. Melts my heart when he talks and smiles. He watches TV now and I hate it. I try to keep him turned away but he'll watch it whenever he gets the chance. I'm so against kids watching TV. I know Treyden will watch it but it won't be a normal activity. I'm bound and determined to help him learn and play and only have minimal TV at least until he's older. I love that he looks for me when I'm not around and he knows who I am now. He enjoys being with his dad but as soon as the fun wears off and he gets a little grouchy, I get him back. Must just be a mom thing.

He loves to sleep on his belly, and shove his face up against something. I've only let him sleep on his belly a couple times. Makes me nervous so he doesn't do it unless I can watch him constantly.

Cookout with the family.

Staring contest with his frog.

Again, has to have his face against something.

What we've been up to.

We are on somewhat of a sleep schedule now. So, at least I can kind of handle being sleep deprived. I never thought I would be able to run on such a small amount of sleep. I look forward to a long nights sleep some day. I friend of mine recommended 'Baby Wise' so I ordered it but haven't seen it yet. I got online to see what the gist was. I've tried a couple different things since we've tried a routine. The book actually says to be awake for one hour, sleep for one hour, awake for one... and so on until about 10. The book says until they're 2-3 months old, they don't stay awake for longer than an hour. Well, this book is not about my baby... He usually stays awake for at least 2 hours and sometimes around 4. As long as he doesn't sleep longer than 7 hours per day and is awake for a couple hours before bed-time he'll only wake up at midnight-ish, 2:30ish, 4-ish, and be wide awake for a few hours anywhere from 5-6:30 and be awake for about 15-30 mins each time. I need to go to sleep right when he does, but I usually don't get to bed till 11. Today, he was ready to wake up at 4. Seeing his cute, happy face in the morning makes it worth every bit of it! Ben has been sleeping in the guest bedroom to get as much sleep as he can since he started farming, so Treyden ends up in bed with me.

This is how we get things done. A friend of mine had this baby carrier and another friend also recommended it. Not cheap but so worth it! Can't wait to get outside for some walks!

He started to smile 3 days ago. They arent big smiles but they're definitely happy smiles!

It's dark. We always have long conversations in the morning. He's happy in the morning, and whenever he's pooping.

Welcome, Treyden James Beard!

This will be quick while the little dude is sleeping...

Treyden James was born on March 23, 2013 at 6:41pm.
7lb 1oz and 21 inches long.
Wow, there are no words to describe the feeling of seeing and holding your child for the first time.
Absolutely, without a doubt, the best moment of my life!

I have wrote down most of his {short & sweet version} birth story.
Without saying much, it was a long labor but oh so worth it and I wanna kiss whoever came up with that epidural. ;)

Treyden is so amazing. That first night home (3 days old) was the hardest. And from the night I was induced until he was about a week old is all a bit of a blur. The baby blues hit me hard and I think I could say now that those are the worst part of the entire thing (pregnancy, labor, etc). They're pretty awful but they're lifting and I'm starting to feel more like myself. It helps to get out w/ Treyden and go visit Ben at the farm.

Ben stayed home for the first week. He was able to do some work from home in the garage. So, that was nice. I wish he could just stay home with us all the time. I'm a home body and love to be inside snuggling my baby boy. Ben is much more of a busy body; always has to be doing something. We always love it when he comes home at night to get some family time in.

We took Treyden to his 4 day apt at IF Pediatrics where they told us he was down to 6lb 4oz. I was told to start supplementing him with some formula. Thank goodness, my milk came in the next day and he's eating and growing like a champ. I do supplement w/ formula every once in a while, not every day. He prefers his 'momma dinners' anyway, he gags and hates formula. I switched formula and he seems to be taking it a little better.

He's almost all healed from his circumcision. Ben was able to come with me to that appointment, thank goodness. I was on the other side of the building for that procedure. Poor little guy. :'(

I've been very cautious, and maybe a little paranoid about him staying healthy. We all use tons of hand sanitizer and wash allll the time. I know the family gets a little tired of me making them wash before playing with him. But, I'm the momma, I get to be a little crazy. ;)

One of my favorites so far!

Loves getting his head washed, doesn't love baths yet.

I took this picture because... I wanted a picture of his umbilical cord and it fell off 20 min later. :( He was 10 days old.
