Wedding plans update

All the ✔ are things that are done. All the ✘'s are things that are either decided on but not quite finished (waiting back for replies). I'm sure I'm missing things... what should my biggest concerns be (other than what's already on the list)?

✔ Dress (I learned a valuable lesson here. Don't buy your dress first. Just because.)
✔ Venue
✔ Wedding photographer
✔ Girls line attire (Very casual)
✔ Chairs / Tables
✘ Cake
✘ Flowers
✘ Engagement pictures / announcements ( we were going to do these last week, the weather looked nice but then, almost literally, one minute later, it was raining. Stupid Idaho. It was that moment I decided to move to Hawaii. ; )
✘ Guys line attire
✘ Table settings
✘ Music
✘ Dad (Yes Dad, you are on the list. You are that special. =} )
Exercising (Sometimes this has an x by it. Not enough though. My belly just isn't going to lose itself!)
Misc decor (Thank goodness for Patty. This all comes together with her help.)
Marriage license (I actually forgot about this until I was doing this. Eeek)
Bishop to marry us (we know who we want... just need to talk to him.)
Catering (deciding between two different options)

My shoes (Ugh, will my boots work? ; ))
My hair (I hate it, it doesn't do a damn thing right.)

OOOOOH! We started landscaping. :) Pictures of the progress coming soon.

Ben's birthday

Ben's 29th birthday was on the 3rd. He told me it felt like any regular day. He went to work and it ended up being the first day in his tractor. We only had about 5 minutes of birthday time on his birthday so I took some pictures of opening presents and such. Didn't have time for the cake, so we did that last night. And he was sssooooo excited (sarcasm). We still haven't done much for his birthday, I know he doesn't care, he says, "I'm 29 not 9!" but birthday's are kinda important to me so we will celebrate... all dang week too! We are gonna have a dutch oven bbq get together this Saturday for his birthday. Hopefully he can come, it is 'hump' time at the farm. The weather doesn't look too great over the weekend so it's lookin good to have him home. (I know these pictures aren't the best, I took them from my phone & the lighting is terrible.)

High lift jack

Vest, wranglers, shirts

TWENTY-NINE candles! :) We had some wax problems by the time they were all lit. (This was in the garage, my house isn't this messy.)

Happy birthday, LOVE!

Shelby

I love my dog. After some hard work, patience, replacing chewed up things we've owned (mostly Ben's), kicking ass, picking up trash, tying her to the garbage can, chasing her around the neighborhood,  spending $a lot on her, kicking ass again, replacing a hose, carrying her across "raging water" on horse back, cussing her when she growls at everybody, picking up poo, cleaning up puke, replacing another hose, cleaning up more garbage... she's turned in to quite the dog. :) She really is the best dog. Sometimes I'll question myself but most days, I think everything was worth it. She's pretty amazing if I do say so myself. Ben has been taking her to work all winter and she has LOVED and learned from it. Ben tried to leave her home one morning and she would not let him out the door. Didn't matter how far you pushed her back, she was NOT letting Ben leave her. I have tons of pictures of her but these are most recent, or some of my favorites.

She just got too big for this bed (this is a bed made for a small dog not ours) but she still tries. :)

Things about Shelby:
1. She is OCD with her fetching.
2. She loves the water but hates baths.
3. She eats like she's starving, she would eat herself to death in a week if she could.
4. She still loves to chew but is getting very good about chewing on the things that are ok.
5. She got ran over when she was 8 months old and now has a large plate and lots of screws in her hip.
6. She wouldn't get in a fight or be aggressive with another dog unless she was near death, & I question that too.
7. She does not like a lot of people. She's extremely protective of Ben and I and 'her' home. But I don't think she'd ever bite anyone (unless you're the UPS man)
8. Loves riding in the back of the truck.
9. She is calm for a 2 year old lab and she has always been that way.
10. She is pure lab, she came with papers, I just never filled them out. The brindle in her is rare & we love it.
11. She is fixed and I'm not happy about it. I kick myself in the butt all the time for this. I want Shelby pups. :(
12. Listens very well and is well mannered.
13. Always content as long as she's with one of us.
14. She sits funny. Her leg doesn't bend well after her surgery. But it's cute.

Cosmetology.

I went into this profession for a number of reasons. Overall, I love my job. I love meeting good people, and I like being able to be creative. I love the girls I work with... and it's safe! Usually.
Not so safe this last Monday though. I wish parents would understand that the fact that childrens haircuts are cheaper really is just a charity type thing. In all reality children take longer to do, they move, you have to repeat yourself 289720398 times, the can't "look down" (they always have to be looking in the mirror, though I'll admit sometimes adults struggle with this too :P), they get impatient, wine, and when they do this mostly when their parents aren't watching. So, in all reality, I should be charging $30 for kids haircuts, not &10-$15. Anyway, I was cutting a little girls hair on Monday, within about 15 minutes she was ready to be DONE! I'd tell her to look down and she'd put her ear on her shoulder... seriously, trying to cut a straight line when your ear is on your shoulder is NOT an easy talk. Oh, and she was sick. Like runny nose, red eyes, tired... this poor girl just looked miserable. So, I was rushing. Wanted to get her done and I didn't want to get sick. So, I had maybe three more cuts to do, and wouldn't ya know that I cut myself. Deep. At first it didn't bleed. Then out of nowhere my blood was having a contest to see how far each shot could go... I really wasn't sure if I was gonna get it to stop bleeding to finish her hair.
But I did. I wrapped napkins and a couple band-aids as tight as they'd go.
This was about a half an hour after I did it. Still bleeding.

And this was last night... looking better. Still the worse cut I've had.

Ben's birthday was yesterday. 29th. Poor guy... lol jk! I've got more details I'll post soon. And updates on the wedding planning. :)
